Looking over my writing, I am pleased with my progress. My areas of greatest improvment are in grammatical convention, style, and the documentation of sources..

Grammatical Convention
|
“Pec-fection is one of my favorite pieces probably because I enjoy working-out. This essay shows growth concerning grammatical conventions especially my overuse of the dreaded “be” verbs. My writing pre-assessment essay, "Technology" in one word is horrible. I drew a blank and panicked and this piece shows all my flaws. It is riddled with be verbs and other grammatical mistakes. "Technology" is questioning how the over use of technology is effecting the human race now and in the future. |
Style
|
My narrative essay, "Lights Out'" was one of my earlier essays and I struggled balancing what I wanted to say with trying to be creative. However, with my recent slight concussion, I may have more to say on the subject. This writing highlights the mental and physical the effects of a brain injury.
""Shades of Cat" was fun to write and I feel shows my growth concerning style. The light-hearted essay is a play on the book Shades of Grey. Enjoy the opening paragraph as I describe my beloved cat, Mama Sween. |
Documentation of Outside Sources
|
"Graduation............now what," a research paper where I conducted original research and cited it throughout the paper. The research compared two possible career paths graduating seniors may take. I compared gastroenterology and plumbing concentrating on educational requirements, job description, and work environment. I learned the importance of using credible sources and the proper citing format.
